Emlid Reach RX2 – the smallest model gets a major upgrade
At Intergeo 2025 in Frankfurt, Emlid launched a new series of RTK GNSS receivers, including the Reach RX2. This second-generation compact receiver now offers excellent performance and functionality. Here are our favorites!
1. Reach RX2 receives all bands
The Reach RX2 now covers all GNSS satellite constellations and bands, from L1 to L6. Its predecessor, the RX, only covered the L1 and L2 bands. Especially in more challenging environments, the L5 and L6 bands significantly help to achieve better measurement accuracy and a more stable FIX solution, as they use more modern and stronger signals.
2. Many more channels
In more difficult conditions, the number of channels is also an important factor in obtaining a FIX. The RX2 now has 672 channels, compared to only 184 channels for its predecessor, the RX.
3. Tilt compensation
Last but not least, the RX series now also has tilt compensation, thanks to an improved IMU. This makes it faster to measure or set points when you don't have to stand and plumb with a bubble level. It is also much easier to measure inside corners and other hard-to-reach places.
4. Quick mount
In conjunction with the launch of the RX2, RS4, and RS4 Pro, Emlid also launched a new quick mount that makes it easier and faster to mount the receiver on the measuring pole. The quick mount has a 5/8" thread at the bottom, making it compatible with most measuring poles, including the Emlid Survey Pole.
If you are interested in this new compact receiver, the first units are expected to ship in December 2025, followed by January 2026. You can already pre-order it from us, and they will be shipped on a first-come, first-served basis.
